Create your own home page—portal for information it brings all the places you normally go to in a normal day…email to-do list

You can add whatever you want. In upper right—add stuff


Google has a blogging tool—blogger
Can start journaling blog for students…might want to moderate.

You can set it up and post to your blog from your cell phone
You can sms and send instant messages.

Google maps

Type in the address
Maybe you want hotels, click on placemarker then search nearby and search for what you want.
THEN you can search for food.

Then you can click on the send button and it will send to your phone

And you can send it to your gps

Then go and click on get directions. May be you want to go through a different route you can drag the blue line through the city on the map

Try clicking on MY MAPS
If you go to go daddy and have domain name. then you can set the domain up as a catchall account.

Click on new map
You can add markers.
Then you put in a title
Put in a description and pictures and change the icon

This can be used as map reading skills.
Or
The students pretend they are a rock band. They have to set up where they are performing and other things about the city they are visiting etc.

GOOGLE EARTH

Integrate social studies and language arts
Each place marker is a marker in the story. They have to narrate each stop—maybe a chapter each marker.

Then you can embed it into your blog – paste link in email or paste into the blog. On the blog
Search for blogger and pick top one

If you update the map, it updates the blog.

Type whatever you want and if the date is in it will put it in the right one.

Calendar for each class—can use this as a lesson plan and objectives. If you don’t cover something you can move it to the next class.
Lessons

To put it into blog
Go to calendar settings. Then customize color size and other options.

Put agenda view. Put in each calendar. Copy the code to the blog

You can share with other people.

Google alerts

Instead of search for the same thing it will email you
Such as the school name
You can cancel inside the email.
